Facility for Printed Organic Electronics

1/9/2016: ELORPrintTec cleanroom operational

After almost two years of intense construction work and installation, the ELORPrintTec cleanroom is open for researchers from university labs and industry as of the 1st of September 2016.

With as much as 850m2 of ultra-clean laboratory space and state-of-the art equipment, Bordeaux is equipped with a unique platform for Organic Electronics research, centered around materials, material formulation and their integration to devices and systems.“It certainly is a unique platform” according to Sokha Khiev, one of the engineers involved in the design of the laboratory. “We had to take into account even the tiniest details while preparing the construction. The challenge was to incorporate the requirements of all the different aspects of the field, from synthesis to ultra-high vacuum characterization tools, in one single interacting platform”. “On top of that, we had to deal with all the architectural constraints of the existing building, but I’m very happy with the result”, Sokha adds.

During the installation and test phase, only a restricted number of academic users were able to get access to the equipment. As from the 1st of September 2016, the platform is open for all academic as well as industrial users. For more information, contact the platforms management.
