Conception, realization and characterization, including studies of reliability, of organic/hybrid devices and systems.

The common development strategy of the IMS teams is mainly focused on Systems Science and Engineering, where Information and Communication Technology converge with Engineering Sciences. The IMS is strongly involved in organic electronics and has a large expertise in the conception and on the study of the reliability of circuits and microsystems.

The research strategy of the ELORGA team is based on a strong collaboration with chemists. Physical properties of new semiconductors are determined and some of them are used to perform new OLEDs, OPV and OFETs. The research interest in the field of MEMS concern alternatives to the silicon-based MEMS technologies.

The Reliability team develops original methodologies for reliability assessment in close collaboration with industrial and academic partners. These new approaches are based on the combination of the physical laws of failure, behavioral simulations and statistical methods, adding inevitable parametric dispersions to extrapolate failure rates and lifetime in operating conditions.

The ELORPrintTec facility is a unique tool and provides the opportunity to cross-fertilize the expertise fields of the various teams of the IMS with the other academic teams of the Université de Bordeaux and the industrial partners. New circuits and systems can be designed and realized whereas there were previously limitations for components. This facility is at the central stage of the research strategy on organic electronics era.
